Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), Jasmina Selimović, Ph.D. hosted the ambassador of the United States of America (USA) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Michael Murphy.

Ambassador Murphy expressed his satisfaction for meeting Governor Selimović, emphasizing, on this occasion, that the CBBH is one of the key pillars of economic stability in the country, and that he looks forward to the continuation of the strong partnership.

The USA has supported and assisted the work of the CBBH until now. The US Treasury and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) were involved in several projects implemented by the CBBH, among which is the payment transaction reform, which is considered one of the most successful reforms in the financial sector.

Governor Selimović presented the current and future activities of the CBBH, as well as the business results of the CBBH, pointing out that, after a number of years of unfavorable conditions for investing in the global financial markets, the situation is changing in a positive direction. As a result of these changes, but also thanks to the timely and successful restructuring of the portfolio of foreign exchange reserves in accordance with policy changes in the euro area, the CBBH is starting to achieve extremely positive business results. „All current and future activities of the CBBH will be aimed at preserving monetary and contributing to financial stability in the country“, the Governor said.

The common assessment is that the monetary stability and independence of the CBBH are of key importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ambassador Murphy wished Governor Selimović success in her work and management of one of the most important state institutions.
