Instant Payment System - IPS BiH The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) has established a domestic instant payment system, which is the most significant step forward in the modernization of Bosnia and Herzegovina's payment infrastructure in the last 25 years. This system makes it possible for citizens to send and receive funds within seconds, regardless of working hours, weekends or holidays (24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year). Instant payments represent an important step forward in the modernization of Bosnia and Herzegovina's financial sector. They will enable faster, simpler and safer execution of transactions, which will improve the user experience of citizens and businesses and further encourage the financial services digitalization. Although payments are carried out within seconds, security remains one of the key priorities. Banks will continue to apply all the existing security mechanisms to authenticate users, monitor and detect suspicious transactions, manage operational risks and prevent fraud.
