9/27/2016

The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) denies the allegations of some media related to the foreign exchange reserves and wants to emphasize that it is not true that the CBBH holds six billion euro in Deustche Bank AG.

Total foreign exchange reserves of the CBBH amounted to KM 9,378,788,204.70 (EUR 4,795,298,264.52) and they are managed in accordance with the strict limitations and guidelines, determined by the legal regulations and other enactments, and in accordance with the best practices applied by the central banks, where the primary aim is safety of the assets.

Like most other central banks, the CBBH, too, has a current account in Deutsche Bank AG, for carrying out the transactions related to a part of regular foreign payment transactions. The funds on this account amount to about 1% of foreign exchange reserves, thus the Central Bank has at its disposition all the funds on daily basis.
