Governor Selimović at the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank

Today, as part of her participation in the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, the Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jasmina Selimović, Ph.D. held a meeting with Jeroen Clicq, Executive Director of the IMF, and Marnix van Rij, Executive Director of the IMF Netherlands-Belgium Constituency.

During the meeting, the collocutors discussed the directions for continuing support to the reform processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina through technical assistance instruments with a special focus on preserving financial and monetary stability, as well as the importance of the CBBH independence in its work and operations. In the context of further European integration, the key role of the CBBH in preserving macroeconomic stability and strengthening the public confidence in the financial system was particularly emphasized.

 

Governor Selimović emphasized the importance of cooperation with the countries of Constituency, emphasizing that this year the CBBH will take over the hosting role at the meeting of the Constituency countries, in the area of financial education and inclusion, which will be organized in cooperation with the OECD. This event represents an important platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences and good practices among member states.

 

Together with the BH delegation, Governor Selimović also visited the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the United States of America, where they were hosted by the Ambassador and by the Embassy staff members. During the meeting, they discussed on strengthening the cooperation between institutions in BH and diplomatic and consular missions abroad, with a special focus on the joint promotion of BH's economic potential, improving the country's investment image and supporting strategic reforms.

Bilateral meetings with senior officials of the IMF and the World Bank will continue tomorrow.
