Direct investment in 2024 are KM 301.2 million lower than in 2023, when they amounted to KM 2.06 billion. In terms of geographical distribution, the largest investment inflows in 2024 came from Croatia (KM 391.1 million), followed by Germany (KM 255.3 million), and Slovenia (KM 247.1 million). Observed by activity, the largest amount of investments, amounting to KM 503.8 million, was realized in the field of financial services, followed by KM 219.8 million in the field of retail trade, and KM 205.1 million in the field of wholesale trade. At the end of 2024, the total stock of foreign direct investments in BH amounted to KM 21.22 billion. In addition to foreign direct investments realized during 2024, this amount also represents the result of investments from previous years, as well as the results of operations of foreign-owned companies. The largest amount of direct investment stock relates to Croatia KM 3.22 billion or 15.2% of the total investment stock, followed by Austria KM 2.9 billion or 13.7% and Serbia KM 2.8 billion or 13.3% of the total investment stock. Observed by sector, the largest stock of foreign direct investment is in the sector of financial services (KM 4.27 billion), followed by telecommunications (KM 2.02 billion) and wholesale trade (KM 2.01 billion).
