The Governor of the Central Bank of BH, Jasmina Selimović, Ph.D., participated in the conference "Insurance Days in BH 2025", where she held an introductory presentation on the topic: "The Future (of Insurance) Under Pressure: Inflation, Climate Risks and Geopolitical Tensions".

In her presentation, she emphasized the key challenges for the insurance sector in the contemporary global context - from inflation and economic instability, to climate extremes and geopolitical tensions.

Special emphasis was placed on the need to modernize business models, strengthen the regulatory framework and the role of institutions in preserving financial stability. The Governor also warned about the long-standing challenges of the domestic market:

• The share of insurance in the financial sector of BH is only 5%,

• Small share of voluntary insurance,

• Underdeveloped capital market and lack of institutional investors,

• Low purchasing power and limited awareness of citizens about the importance of insurance.

"Insurance in BH has the potential to become a key partner for citizens and the economy in times of growing uncertainty," said Governor Selimović.

Within the topic "Financial Literacy in Insurance - a Project for the Future", the Head of the CBBH Communications Office, Enes Kurtović, presented the CBBH project on integrating financial education into the education system.

The conference brought together leading experts and representatives of the insurance sector from across the region, confirming the importance of dialogue, cooperation and readiness to jointly face global challenges.
