"Electronic and Digital Financial Services" Guide for Citizens 3/19/2026 Tweet "Electronic and Digital Financial Services" guide for citizens was presented in the premises of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a part of marking the Global Money Week - LINK. The guide was created as an answer to the most common questions of citizens regarding modern financial services – from digital payments, use of cards and mobile banking, to transaction security, instant payments and the process of joining the SEPA area. Digitalisation of financial services brings numerous benefits, said the Vice Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Emir Kurtić,Ph.D. and added: "Our goal was not only to inform, but to educate and empower citizens – so that they can recognise the benefits of digital financial services, but also understand the responsibilities they carry, so that they can make safe and well informed financial decisions." The guide was prepared by the Central Bank of BH and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), as part of the Digital Financial Services Project for the Western Balkans, which is being implemented in partnership with the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland, the Banks Association of BiH, the Banking Agency of the Federation of BiH and the Banking Agency of Republika Srpska. The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a full member of the OECD INFE Network for Financial Education, is continuously working on increasing the financial literacy of all citizens, with a special focus on young people. During this week, more than 400 students from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina had the opportunity to participate in educational programmes through activities organised under the motto "Smart Money Talks".
