The CBBH is a conscientious and legal owner of the plot in Kranjčevićeva street

Regarding media statements and headlines related to the current Report of the ad hoc Commission on the Regulation Plan of the City Center "Marijin dvor", and the negative context in which certain media, along with political and public officials, try to put the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and bring it into connection with the existence of certain "irregularities", we hereby, once again, point out that the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in a conscientious and lawful manner, has acquired the entitlement of ownership on the subject plot. While having the full respect towards the profession expertise, we point out that no Report of any entity, commission, etc. can change this fact and that with such media statements and placement of incomplete information, the continuous and conscious attempt to politicize the whole case and damage the reputation of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina continue. We strongly reject the attempts to link the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina to any irregularities.

Report of the Commission on the identified situation in connection with the Regulatory Plan of the City Center "Marijin dvor"

We consider it to be extremely unprofessional in a fact that the Report in question was not submitted to the Central Bank in a timely manner, with the possibility for us to comment on it. This was done only at the explicit request of the Central Bank, the day before the planned session.

However, the Report somehow appeared in the media which use and misuse the statements from the Report, even before the announced special session of the Municipal Council, placing the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its management in a very negative context, while presenting this institution as „stealer of Hastahana“ and neglecting the fact that we have already by now paid near KM 5.5. mil for the purchase of the lot in question and have registered our property right, suffering for six months now a considerable damage due to the Municipality Centar disregard. No statement of the Central Bank which has by now been submitted to Municipality Centar related to this matter has been suggested with the Report.

We wish to remind that all the activities taken by the Central Bank in the process of purchasing the lot have been done in full compliance with the applicable regulations, publicly and transparently. The lot owned by the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not in the national monument area, but in the so-called „protected area“ for which there is no prescribed absolute ban on construction. The relation of the municipal authorities towards the requests of the Central Bank is quite concerning and unfair. Municipality Centar is continuously delaying the solving of such requests, thus breaching legal deadlines, which is the reason why we were forced to submit complaints to the competent authorities, the solution of which is expected in the period to come.

Unfortunately, the current situation mainly reminds of a political struggle between the previous and current administration, where the Central Bank suffers the largest damage.

The report is currently the subject of detailed analysis of our legal representatives, and we will comment on it in the period ahead, in the part which in any way impacts the rights of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Upon the completing of the mentioned activities, we will pass decisions related to further proceeding. However, one thing is certain – we will persist in protecting the rights and interests of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
