The presentation of results of pilot project of financial education in schools organised in the CBBH 3/31/2022 Tweet On 31 March 2022, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), with the support of the European Fund for Southeast Europe Development Facility (EFSE DF) organised the round table and presentation of results of the pilot project of cooperation with high schools in implementing financial education, with aim to define possible steps and suggestions for introducing financial education in school curriculum. In earlier visits to the CBBH, high school pupils were interested to learn more about the CBBH, currency, savings, financial services in the market such as accounts, loans, payment cards and similar. Providing financial education to young people and respecting their needs, an idea of pilot project for transfer of knowledge for providing services of financial education has appeared. The pilot project included professors and pupils of three Sarajevo high schools: School of Economics, Business – Commercial and Trade School and Third Gymnasium. Within the project, the representatives of the CBBH and EFSE DF implemented training for professors and pupils, and after the training, pupils as peer educators held lectures in their own schools. The survey conducted showed that subjects and contents of lectures were very important for pupils, that they are satisfied with what they have learned and that lectures on managing personal finance and financial services motivated them to carry out additional research. 92.8% respondents gave a positive answer to the question from the survey if they think that financial education of the young should become a part of high school education. Today's round table and presentation of results of pilot project of financial education in high schools was attended by the officials of the CBBH and EFSE DF, and also representatives of the Ministry for Education of Sarajevo Canton, Institute for Pre-university Education, managers, professors, pupils-educators of schools included in the project, as well as professor of High School Centre „Pale“ and professors and pupils of High School Centre „Istočna Ilidža“. Discussion during today's round table was focused on future steps and models of cooperation.
