During the discussion, Governor Softić presented to Ambassador Sattler the basic macroeconomic indicators, and special attention during the conversation was paid to the situation in the financial and banking sector. Monetary stability in BH, achieved through the currency board arrangement, has been confirmed, which is the biggest contribution in the situation of pandemic crisis and current geopolitical situation, the Governor emphasized, adding that the CBBH continuously fulfills, legally defined, obligations and implements its strategic goals.

„The priority of all should be activities and measures that will mitigate the consequences of increasingly pronounced inflation for the economy and for the citizens." Our focus should be on real economic reforms, which would significantly stimulate and strengthen economic activity, economic growth and the investment cycle. The CBBH, for its part, will contribute to the above, within the framework of its legal mandate“, said Governor Softić.

The Governor especially emphasized the good cooperation of the CBBH with the representatives of the banking sector, as well as the quality of the banking coordination and the need to continue maintaining the level of the BH Standing Committee for Financial Stability.

The Head of the EU Delegation pointed out the role and importance of the CBBH in the financial sector, emphasizing that preserving the independence of the CBBH and the integrity of the currency board have key importance for the financial sector, the BH economy and the state as a whole.

„The role of the CBBH in the process of accession to the EU will become stronger as the accession process intensifies,“ said Ambassador Sattler in a conversation with Governor Softić.“
