1/24/2024

Today, on January 24, 2024, Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), Jasmina Selimović, Ph.D., together with her associates, met the delegation of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Director Courtney Chubb.

The USAID delegation wished the CBBH Governor success in her work and in leading the institution, and during the conversation they expressed mutual satisfaction with the past cooperation wishing for equally successful future cooperation.

USAID supports the CBBH activities in the field of modernization of payment systems with a focus on building a modern system for instant payments (TIPS), and integration into the euro area payment system (SEPA), which is one of the priority activities of the CBBH. The process of joining the SEPA area and connecting with EU payment systems is essential for the further development of payment systems, and in general for the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The realization of these activities will create important opportunities, but also benefits for the economy, citizens and institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as for the Bosnian diaspora.

Governor Selimović thanked USAID for its support, and pointed out that the CBBH will continue to work on improving business processes and further alignment with European standards.
